Michele’s Top 3 Reasons to Live In Orangeville
- Walkability – Orangeville is a growing community that has kept its small-town charm. There is live theatre, lots of cafes, both fine dining & casual restaurants, and interesting shops both on & off Broadway, the main street.
- Island Lake Park – I am always surprised at how many people do not know about this fabulous recreational facility. Cycle, hike, kayak, swim, cross-country ski, ice-fishing or watch a concert or play at the open-air theatre. This is one of my favourite parks in the Headwaters area!
- Orangeville has a young and lively feel. I checked with Stats Can to see if it was just me or if Orangeville’s population really was younger. The average age in Orangeville is 38.9 years vs the Canadian & Ontario average, which are both 41. Plus homeownership is higher than the rest of Canada at 78% in Orangeville vs 67.8% in Canada!!
Orangeville is far enough from Toronto to have its own vibe, but close enough to commute. It’s about half-way to cottage country and not far from some nice ski hills, so you can stay active all year-round.
Orangeville has a variety of housing types & price ranges, including gorgeous century houses and 70’s bungalows & 2-storeys on large lots, as well as newer townhomes, some condos, executive & luxury homes on gracious lands and a few seniors’ residences. Prices for condos start just over $100,000 with higher-end housing just under $1,200,000. There is something for everyone in this vibrant community.
